چکیده

In electrical engineering, for example during the design of superconducting radio-frequency cavities, eigenmodes must be identified based on their field patterns. This allows to understand working principle, optimize performance a device and distinguish desired from parasitic modes. For cavities with simple shapes, are easily classified according number nodes antinodes in each direction as is obvious analytical formulae. complicated determined numerically. Thereby, classification cumbersome, if not impossible. this paper, we propose new recognition method by morphing cavity geometry pillbox tracking its deformation.

Planar shape recognition by shape morphing

A novel method based on shape morphing is proposed for 2D shape recognition. In this framework, the shape of objects is described by using their contour. Shape recognition involves a morph between the contours of the objects being compared. The morph is quanti"ed by using a physics-based formulation. This quanti"cation is used as a dissimilarity measure to "nd the reference shape most similar t...

Automated Mode Recognition Algorithm for Accelerating Cavities

Eigenmode simulations of accelerating structures often involve a large number of computed modes that need to be cataloged and compared. In order to effectively process all the information gathered from eigenmode simulations a new algorithm was developed to automatically recognize modes’ field patterns. In this paper we present the principles of the algorithm and investigate its applicability by...

Eigenvalue Solvers for Electromagnetic Fields in Cavities

We investigate algorithms for computing steady state electromagnetic waves in cavities. The Maxwell equations for the strength of the electric eld are solved by (1) a penalty method using common linear and quadratic node-based nite elements, and (2) a mixed method with linear and quadratic nite edge elements for the eld values and corresponding node-based nite elements for the Lagrange multipli...

Shape-Morphing Nanocomposite Origami

Nature provides a vast array of solid materials that repeatedly and reversibly transform in shape in response to environmental variations. This property is essential, for example, for new energy-saving technologies, efficient collection of solar radiation, and thermal management. Here we report a similar shape-morphing mechanism using differential swelling of hydrophilic polyelectrolyte multila...
